Dentistry is a constantly evolving field, which is why our Taylor Dental team has gone to great lengths to always offer the most current and efficient oral healthcare. With an office outfitted with the most cutting-edge technology available, we can better serve our family of patients. For this technology to truly be useful, it must be used by a trained hand. This is why our team consists of specialists trained to use these tools to provide optimized treatments.
CEREC® Technology: Same-Day Crowns, Start to Finish
At Taylor Dental, we use CEREC® (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) technology to design, mill, and place permanent dental crowns in a single appointment — no lab wait, no temporary crown, no second visit.
CEREC® incorporates CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) technology to take precise 3D digital scans of your smile. Those scans replace the traditional putty impressions of the past — no more trays, no more gagging — and produce a level of accuracy that leads to a more natural fit and a more comfortable result.
Once the scan is complete, your custom restoration is designed chairside using specialized software, then milled right in our office from a solid block of clinically proven ceramic material — including Zirconia and high-strength glass ceramics chosen for their durability and natural appearance. From the moment you sit down to the moment you leave with a permanent crown, the entire process typically takes about an hour.
The CEREC® system is also designed with infection control built in — fully enclosed tools allow for thorough disinfection between patients, eliminating the risk of cross-contamination and keeping every visit as safe as it is efficient.
The result: your appointment is complete in one visit, on your schedule, without the hassle of multiple trips back.
Digital X-rays
Digital X-rays are used in our office to photograph your mouth and jaw so that our doctors and team can have a better understanding of your dental needs. The digital X-rays capture images that we can see within moments of taking them. This is made possible through digital X-ray sensors instead of the older method of using photographic film.
The use of digital X-ray sensors rather than film benefits our patients in a variety of ways. It is more efficient than its older counterpart by eliminating any room for human error and digitally producing an image for evaluation. This digital image also allows us to adjust the size of the picture without compromising the integrity of the results. Another great benefit of digital X-rays is that you are exposed to less radiation making for a safer experience.
Intra-Oral photos
Intra-oral photos are pictures taken of specific areas of your mouth with an extremely high-quality digital camera. These pictures are taken very close up to the area in question and are compiled together to give our team a fuller understanding of your oral health. These pictures may focus on one tooth, a group of teeth, or any other area of interest.
Intra-oral photos are used to establish a baseline so that we can monitor areas of your mouth and determine if any dental conditions are being resolved or worsening. It’s important that we have a clear original image to compare your teeth to so we can accurately evaluate your oral health. We will also send these pictures to any specialists we ever need to refer you to so that they, too, can understand your oral health needs.
Every piece of technology we introduce at our practice serves a purpose and plays a part in our larger goal to provide top-of-the-line dental care in the most efficient way possible. This cutting-edge technology elevates our treatments in a way that better serves our family of patients.
iTero 5D Scanner
At Taylor Dental, we’re committed to utilizing the latest advancements in dental technology to ensure our patients receive the highest standard of care. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce the iTero 5D scanner into our practice — a cutting-edge tool that’s revolutionizing the way we approach dental diagnostics and treatment planning.
The iTero 5D scanner represents the pinnacle of imaging technology. With its advanced capabilities, we’re able to obtain highly detailed 3D images of your teeth and gums. Unlike traditional dental impressions, which can be uncomfortable and imprecise, the iTero 5D scanner is both non-invasive and incredibly accurate. This means faster, more comfortable appointments for you and a more precise set of data for us.
One of the most groundbreaking features of the iTero 5D scanner is its Near-Infrared Imaging (NIRI) technology. This allows us to see beyond the surface of your teeth, identifying cavities and early signs of tooth decay that might not yet be visible to the naked eye. Early detection is key to preventing small issues from becoming major concerns, and the iTero 5D scanner is an invaluable tool in this mission.
Our commitment to integrating the iTero 5D scanner into our practice is also a commitment to enhancing your experience as a patient. The scanner’s rapid, accurate imaging capability not only shortens your time in the chair but also involves you directly in your treatment plan. You’ll be able to see your dental scans in real time, allowing for a more interactive discussion about your oral health and treatment options.
The iTero 5D scanner seamlessly integrates into nearly every aspect of dental care provided at Taylor Dental. Whether it’s for Invisalign aligners, restorative work, or routine check-ups, the detailed imagery offered by the iTero 5D scanner ensures that every treatment plan is tailored to the minutest detail of your unique dental structure. Plus, with the Invisalign Outcome Simulator, we’ll be able to show you a preview of your perfected smile, ensuring you love the end result and stay on track throughout the process.
