Same-Day Crowns In Pensacola, FL
CEREC® Single Visit Dentistry
One Visit. One Hour. One New Smile.
Getting a dental crown used to mean two separate appointments, a week or two of wearing an uncomfortable temporary crown that could fall off at any moment, and a second round of numbing at your follow-up visit. At Taylor Dental, we’ve eliminated all of that.
With CEREC® (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) technology, we design and mill your permanent crown right here in our Pensacola office — while you sit comfortably in the chair. From digital scan to final placement, your entire crown restoration is complete in a single visit.
What can CEREC® do for you?
With this complete, in-office system, we can create long-lasting ceramic crowns and more—in a single visit, in as little as one hour. That means a healthier smile for you in less time.
How It Works: Your Crown in 4 Simple Steps
1. Digital Scan
No More “Goop”
We begin by taking a precise 3D digital picture of your tooth and the surrounding bite. No goopy impression trays, no gagging, no discomfort. Our CEREC® scanner captures every detail of your tooth’s shape, size, and bite relationship in just minutes.
2. On-Site Design
Designed Just for You, Right at the Chair
Using advanced CAD/CAM software, your dentist designs your custom crown chairside — right in the treatment room. You can even see your new crown take shape on screen. Every contour is tailored to match the natural anatomy of your tooth.
3. In-Office Milling
Made While You Wait
Our precision CEREC® milling machine carves your crown from a solid block of high-quality tooth-colored ceramic — right here in our office. No off-site lab. No waiting days or weeks. Your custom crown is typically ready in under an hour.
4. Placement
You Leave with a Permanent Crown — Today
Once milled, your crown is polished, checked for fit and bite, and permanently bonded to your tooth. You walk out with a finished, durable restoration — no second appointment, no temporary, no second injection needed.
Why CEREC® Technology Makes a Difference
More Accurate Than Traditional Impressions
Digital scans capture the exact geometry of your tooth with a level of accuracy that traditional putty impressions simply cannot match. The result is a crown that fits more naturally, seats more comfortably, and integrates seamlessly with your bite — reducing the need for adjustments.
Built to Last
CEREC® crowns are milled from clinically proven ceramic materials — including Zirconia and high-strength glass ceramics — that are engineered for both durability and natural aesthetics. These materials closely mimic the look and light-reflecting properties of natural tooth enamel, so your restored tooth blends beautifully with your smile.
The End of the Temporary Crown
Traditional crown procedures require a temporary crown to protect your tooth between appointments. Temporaries are often uncomfortable, can feel awkward when chewing, and are notorious for falling off at inconvenient moments. With CEREC®, temporaries are a thing of the past — because your permanent crown is placed the same day.
Less Time. Less Stress.
Because everything happens in a single appointment, you only need to be numbed once. Patients with dental anxiety especially appreciate skipping the second injection — and the wait in between.
Is a Same-Day Crown Right for You?
A dental crown may be recommended when a tooth is too damaged for a simple filling but doesn’t need to be removed. CEREC® same-day crowns are an excellent solution for patients who need:
- A tooth restored after damage, cracking, or breakage
- Protection following root canal therapy
- Reinforcement for a weakened or heavily filled tooth
- Replacement of an old, failing crown
- Completion of a dental implant restoration
Not sure if you need a crown? Our team will thoroughly evaluate your tooth and walk you through every option before any treatment begins.

Your Questions Answered: Same-Day Crown FAQs
Yes. CEREC® crowns are made from the same high-quality ceramic materials used in traditional crown fabrication, including Zirconia and lithium disilicate glass ceramics — both of which are clinically proven for long-term durability and aesthetics. With proper care, a CEREC® crown can last just as long as a conventionally made crown.
Absolutely. The ceramic blocks used in CEREC® milling are shade-matched to your natural teeth and designed to reflect light in a way that closely resembles natural enamel. Most patients find that their crown is virtually indistinguishable from the teeth around it.
The cost of a CEREC® crown is generally comparable to a traditional crown. In many cases, patients find it more cost-effective overall because there’s only one appointment — meaning less time off work and no additional costs associated with a second visit. We’re happy to discuss costs, insurance coverage, and financing options before you begin treatment. Taylor Dental also offers an In-House Dental Savings Plan for patients without insurance.
Most dental insurance plans that cover traditional crowns will also cover CEREC® same-day crowns, as it is the same restorative procedure — just delivered more efficiently. Our team will verify your benefits and walk you through your coverage before your appointment. Most dental insurance plans that cover traditional crowns will also cover CEREC® same-day crowns, as it is the same restorative procedure — just delivered more efficiently. Most same-day crown appointments are completed in approximately 1–2 hours, from digital scan to final placement. The exact time depends on the complexity of your individual case. Your dentist will give you a realistic estimate at the start of your visit.
The preparation process for a CEREC® crown is the same as for any crown — your tooth is numbed with local anesthetic before treatment begins. Because everything is completed in one visit, you only receive one injection. Many patients report that the biggest surprise is how straightforward and comfortable the process is.
No special care is required. Treat your crown just like a natural tooth — brush twice daily, floss regularly, and keep up with your routine dental cleanings. Avoiding habits like chewing ice or grinding your teeth will help extend the life of any crown.
